A GROUP of St Clare’s School students has sewn dresses for a good cause.

During the second semester of the school year, 14 students worked on the dresses as part the Dress a Girl Around the World program, which involves sending the prom dress uk to girls from vulnerable backgrounds.

Year 10 student Natasja Passalacqua said she had not taken part in sewing much before, so enjoyed creating the dresses.

“We are a CARE (Curriculum and Reengagement in Education) school so we understand that girls need a safe living environment,” she said.

“They might not have their own clothes so I’m happy we were able to provide for them.

“I think all girls deserve to be loved and protected, no matter where they live in the world.”

Donia Clews said some of the students would continue making dresses and the school would send them off at the end of the year.

“The students completed the prom dress shops through the Certificate of Work Preparation and I was thrilled by their attitude,” she said.
