Daniel Mozzes, a fashion designer living in Albany, showed his fall/winter 2017 line at Harlem Fashion Week on Feb. 12. The show is essentially an offshoot of the acclaimed New York Fashion Week and runs at the same time but showcases up-and-coming designers.

Mozzes, owner of Daniel Mozzes Design in Albany, has said he enjoys designing short prom dresses that illustrate his “crazy personality.” He designs for men and women, participating in charity fashion shows throughout the region and helping models get a start.

He brought his own models to Harlem Fashion Week, an uncommon choice when designers typically use models from agencies in the city, but it created opportunities for those aspiring models, too.

“The audience loved my work and responded very enthusiastically,” said Mozzes, who also is planning an outdoor show on North Pearl Street in Albany for sometime in May. “No new clients yet, but lots of possibilities and people who are interested in staying in touch with me, including two major magazines.
