Trish and Arnout's wedding. Photography by Ros and Anna of Couple Photography, visit couple.ieWe spent hours sitting on the wall at the bus stop outside Kings College just chatting and getting to know each other. Before long we had stopped even pretending we were watching out for 188 as we talked well into the small hours,” says Trish.

Now living in Cambridge, the couple decided to get married in Ireland and planned a Catholic ceremony with Dutch and Irish traditions. In their search for a venue they both fell in love with Bellingham Castle in Louth.

Trish says “the gardens and riverbanks are truly beautiful and the castle itself couldn’t be more perfect.”

As both Trish and Arnout work in environmental science they chose to theme the day with trees and tried to incorporate them wherever they could throughout the day. Even getting creative with the seating plan, they tied nametags onto silver leaf-shaped keyrings and hung them on a tree for guests to find their seats. “Our guests really enjoyed the novelty of looking for their names and the children had great fun helping people out,” Trish said.

The bride had her dress custom-made by Forget Me Not Designs, based on the Isle of Wight, and the groomsmen’s suits were provided by McElhinneys, Athboy.

After their big day Trish and Arnout went to Thailand for a week followed by a week travelling through Japan.
